About Us

Ashford (Middlesex) Camera Club is a small, friendly club whose aim is the enjoyment of photography.

Membership is at all levels, from beginners to advanced, and includes both silver halide and digital photographers – although most of the club’s members now produce images digitally.

Meetings

Meetings are held on the first, third and fourth Tuesday evenings each month where we have talks by invited speakers, hold a variety of competitions at all levels and take our cameras along for studio work with models or table-top still-life sessions. The meetings cover both film and digital photography and the fourth Tuesday evening of each month is usually dedicated to digital photography, where we use a computer and digital projector to teach ourselves techniques such as the use of Adobe Photoshop and the production of digital slide shows. There is a library of digital tutorial material for the use of members.

Our 2011 exhibition of members’ work was held on Saturday 29 October in St Matthew’s Church Hall, from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm. For a short video of our 2009 exhibition, see this YouTube video.

A club outing to Bedfont Lakes inspired one of our members to produce a digital slide show, also available on YouTube.

Anyone with an interest in photography, whether they are experienced and serious or just learning to master a digital camera for the first time, will find interesting meetings, advice and friendship at the Ashford Camera Club. Come along, free of charge, to sample a couple of meetings before joining!
